New expeditions in cooking.

So lately, I have been getting back into cooking for the family, after not cooking for a fair amount of time, due to work commitments.

I don’t have any pictures of my cooking, as I never seem to be able to find my camera, but I made a fairly good Chicken Parmigiana, almost from scratch, as well as a Pizza. While they weren’t perfect by any definition, there’s definite room for improvement, and as they say: Practice makes perfect 🙂

On reflection, I will admit that I forgot the ham for the chicken parma, but it was just as good without it, and I ended up using the ham I forgot to use in the Parma, in the pizza, which was mainly ham and pineapple.
The pizza also had Onion, capsicum and marinated mushies. 🙂

Next thing I want to attempt though, is a Pasta Bake :3 It’s something that I haven’t had in a very long time.

(All these foods are high in fat, I know)

Also, brocolli covered in cheese…

Carrot Cake of Ultimate Tastebud Destruction +9000

Well, it has been a long time since my last posting, so I thought that I would update my blog with something that I have recently baked, as baking is one of my many unmanly talents xP

Took about 30 minutes of preparation, then into the oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes on 160 degrees in my fan-forced oven 😀

And without further ado, here is the carrot cake just out of the oven, cooling on one of my many cooling racks:

Now for the icing, which is pretty much Icing sugar, butter and milk, which is mixed together with an electric beater or beaten to death by someone with a good spoon hand.

Here’s the cream cheese icing for the cake, as prepared by myself:

Here’s the cake plus the icing on it, after it has cooled. I’ve topped the cake with some walnuts for added noms and nutritional value:

Then it goes into the fridge to cool further, and for the icing to harden up a bit…

New Years & more

I hope that everyone enjoyed their new years. Mine was pretty low key this year, not including the night with the neighbours, which lasted till 8pm the following night :p

ERR, maybe it wasn’t quite so low key…

But at least I didn’t end up with a 2 day hangover, which is quite an achievement considering I’m pretty sure I drank more than I did at the afterparty last week…

Anyhoo, yeah, my new years resolution:

To not have another 2 day hangover :p

It’s the one resolution that I will definetly keep.

Nuchaleft’s Christmas

Howdy readers of my blog, Now I will tell you all about my Christmas day and the various things that I got for christmas, as well as the why. There will be a discussion of foods as well.

25th Nov: It all began with the stockup of food and other items beforehand. Both food cupboards were filled with food and other things, and the fridge as well. Spent roughly $400 on christmas items, roughly the same amount as last year.

10th Dec: Finally set up the Christmas tree including all decorations throughout the house.

15th Dec: Bought myself 2 presents (Nintendo DS and Final Fantasy III)

16th Dec: Was given some Chocolates by some friends, which were placed in freezer for the event.

24th Dec: All presents were wrapped, including chocolates, video games, books and other things. Presents were placed under the christmas tree. Also on this day some more presents were added for both me and my flatmate, so the final tally was tweaked.

25th Dec: Well, what can I say? We had a feast for both lunch and dinner, Roast chicken with salad…

Spaced Out

Though I am posting, I think I had a little too much to drink last night, I feel like crap and my head hurts like all hell… I should get some coffee down me when I get back home, no big deal really…
